Wanna feel proud of our country today? We live in the greatest country in the world not because we have money and not because we have power, but because people matter to one another and everyone has a chance to make their own path.
Today as you celebrate our great nation, be thankful that you're allowed the freedom to be YOU. Whether you're a woman, black, asian, hispanic, gay, old, married, single, childless, quiver-full, jobless, employed, degree-holding or not, take a moment to take pride in the fact that no one is stopping you from being who you are, and that's a beautiful thing. You can walk out your door without fear, you can sleep at night without wondering if you'll wake up and you can head to church on Sunday and come home after.
And tonight, go out and rent "Taking Chance." It'll make you bawl and it'll make you proud to be a citizen of this fine nation. Our country may not be perfect, but it has potential and hope, and that's a lot more than some people have, isn't it?

We have watched "Taking Chance". It is one of the most moving DVD's we have ever seen. Beautifully done. If I were in the education system I would show it to as many teens (and teachers) as possible.
We hope your day was very nice. Sandy and Allan came to visit and brought two beautiful pies. It was good to spend time with them.
